Sharmila feels death sentence not deterrent for rape

Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore opposed capital punishment for rape saying death is neither the ultimate punishment nor a deterrent.

"I don't think death the ultimate punishment. It is not a deterrent because when the person is committing the crime, he thinks that he is not going to be caught.
